Hi,

I have come to NZ this yr on a student visa. Initially thought of goin bck bt nw m in love wt the country. M definitely planin to wrk n stay here. I regularly visit this forum + nz immigration website. My question is =

In oder to get a work permit, Do i need to have a job which is listed under the long term shortage skill + immediate skill shortage ? I knw after d student visa i have a option for an open work permit. I am talking after when d open work permit expires. If i do nt find a job which is under the these list wud my work permit application straightaway refused ?

New Zealand’s economy to wave recession goodbye

According to the Westpac Banking Corp, New Zealand’s economy will emerge from the worst recession in thirty years even with a currency around 70 US cents.

New housing construction is expected to lift the country’s economy.

Sharon Zollner, an economist at Westpac in Wellington, told Bloomberg that the construction industry is expected to lead economic growth as exports are being reduced due to high exchange rate.
